Random Sights and Thoughts

As we were driving from point A to point B a day or two ago, I noticed a sign by the road:  Major junction ahead, go slow.”  About 300 yards on, we did, indeed, come to a junction of what appeared to be at least a two lane, possibly three lane, paved road with our two lane road.  Keep in mind that we were out in the country flying along at.upwards of 35 to 40 km per hour.  As we entered the junction, slowing not a lick, I noticed nary a thing on the roadway coming in from the left and, on the right, two motor scooters and seven goats.  Major junction indeed!

A sign above a small shop in Karaikudi:  Second Skin Male Wear.”  Sounds like something you would find in Amsterdam.

Many brightly colored buildings all over the place.  It seems that Hinduism has  a concept called vaastu, which is kind of like feng shui.  People consult their vaastu expert, probably their family priest, to find out all sort of things about how their houses should be put together.  I’m just happy that the priests have good color sense because these little gems are wonderful.

Hello and welcome to India 🙂 Your posts are wonderful, with the right concoction of passion for travelling, wit, and a great perception on things. Love the fact that you’re open to, and embrace different cultures with ease and honestly, that’s really hard to come by 🙂 I’m so so glad I chanced upon your blog. Cheers!
