It seems that I forgot to post this blog when I wrote it last Sunday. So, here it is now, a week late.
Sunday is market day in St. Chinian, which meant that we began the day there. But because it was a beautifully sunny day, we decided to head back to the seaside for the rest of the day. Turned out to be a good choice.
In spite of the fact that we had had breakfast before we left Cruzy and despite the fact that we (or at least I) had partaken of several baked goodies at the market, our first stop in Valras-Plage was an outdoor restaurant. Each of us picked one of the several plat du jour choices. Several selected the moules and frites, a couple picked the tuna steak and I chose the grilled sea bream. Of course, those were the main courses only, we also had entrees and one of us (I say with a guilty smile) even indulged in dessert. All of the food was beautiful and delicious.
The walk out the breakwater was not enough to compensate for the lunch calories but it was SOME exercise. There were many families enjoying the summer-like day: Guys fishing, ladies lounging, and kiddies splashing in the water. Even Buster was tempted to join in the merry making.
All of the sea air left us good for was a night of wine and Mexican train dominoes. It was just delightful.
