Portugal, Voyage of Discovery Reversed

I seems only appropriate to begin this blog with a photo of the back side of the Portuguese flag.  It was the great Portuguese explorers who set off in their tiny caravels in the 15th and 16th centuries to make such huge discocvered about the oceans and “new” lands of the world.  Michael and I are reversing that program and have traveled to tiny Portugal to make huge discoveries about this one particular, very old country and, maybe, about ourselves.

I have been having such trouble getting onto a server to work that I think I will send this incomplete blog off just to let you know that we have arrived in Portugal and have spent several very busy days exploring Lisbon (we are now in Cascais preparing to begin our severn day walk to Sintra). I will attempt to make some more entries soon, if not immediately
