Sense of Humor

Although the sense of humor isn’t one of the major five senses, I think we need to stretch our horizons in this context.  Just as, here in Africa, there are the “big five” animals (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo) and a “little five” (lion ant, leopard tortoise, elephant shrew, rhino dung beetle, buffalo weaver), I think that we need to treat our senses in the same way.  So, the sense of humor is going to be one of our little five.

Yesterday, we visited a Masai cultural boma.  With some help from friends, I managed to make a purchase but had to rely on Michael’s wallet for the funds.  As I went with the fellow to do the deal, Michael sort of got left behind.  The fellow turned to me and asked where my father was.

Happily, Michael wasn’t there to hear it.  Sadly, I told him anyway; but that’s just me.
